Extracurricular activity

Mandarin for children

An introduction to the Chinese language and culture, with practical, age-appropriate classes – learning with curiosity and consistency, in a fun, practical and effective way.

What is covered in the classes

In these classes, the focus is on communication from the very beginning: listening, repeating, recognising sounds and words, and gaining confidence to say simple sentences. Learning takes place through playful activities – games, visual cards, music and small routines – so that children associate the language with positive and consistent experiences.

Why learn Mandarin

Learning a different language broadens curiosity and opens the door to other cultures. It also helps develop attention, memory and perseverance – skills that are useful in every area of learning. Above all, the goal is to build a natural relationship with the language: learning step by step, without pressure and with enjoyment.

Teacher

Ana Lopes

Ana Lopes has an academic background in the study of Eastern languages, with a particular interest in Mandarin and Japanese. Over the years, she has deepened her knowledge of these languages and cultures and developed experience that she now brings into the educational setting through dynamic classes adapted to different age groups.
